OSU Institute of Technology has one of General Motors’ premier automotive training programs, ensuring graduates will have a successful career at a GM dealership.
Students are trained on current GM products in a variety of areas including engines, brakes, manual and automatic drivetrains, electrical, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance systems.
The average salary for entry level technicians is very competitive. With just a few years of experience, the salaries increase dramatically. Employers also typically provide health and retirement benefits. With paid internships as part of the program curriculum, students can begin earning even before graduation!
Because of dealer sponsorships there is nearly a 100% job placement rate among students who have earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Automotive Service Technology from OSU Institute of Technology.
Graduates are prepared for a career as a GM trained technician who can analytically diagnose problems and perform factory recommended service procedures to maintain high customer service satisfaction. Upon graduation, students will have received a majority of GM issued certifications and are also eligible for ASE Certification.
The curriculum is structured to enable the successful graduate to advance in position after additional experience and to understand new systems and components as they are introduced.
