Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology has one of Toyota’s premier automotive service technician training programs, ensuring graduates will have a successful career at a Toyota, Lexus, or Scion dealership.
Students are trained on current Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles in a variety of areas including transmissions/ transaxles, suspension/noise vibration and harshness (NVH), brake, electrical and electronic systems, automatic climate control, electronic fuel injection (EFI), and computer control systems.
The average salary for entry level technicians is very competitive. With just a few years of experience, the salaries increase dramatically. Employers also typically provide health and retirement benefits. With paid internships as part of the program curriculum, students will begin earning even before graduation!
Because of dealer sponsorships there is nearly a 100% job placement rate among students who have earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Automotive Service Technology from OSU Institute of Technology.
Graduates are prepared for a career as a Toyota, Lexus, or Scion trained technician who can analytically diagnose problems and perform factory recommended service procedures to maintain high customer service satisfaction. Upon graduation, students will have earned a majority of Toyota technician certifications and will have passed at least two ASE Certification tests.
The sky is the limit for experienced technicians from the Toyota T-TEN Program. “Almost everyone in my shop is a graduate from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology,” said Lloyd VanZant of Jim Norton Toyota in Tulsa, “If I lose someone it’s only because they are moving on to a higher level job.”
