Below are the results of the Library Book Selection Survey. Item responses ranged from 1 to 3, with 1 = disagree, 2 = uncertain, and 3 = agree. An asterisk next to a mean average item response indicates a statistically significant difference from the midpoint of 2.0. Results suggest that faculty do not believe library book selection is a high priority for their work nor do they believe that it is very important for the courses they teach. There is some uncertainty as to the importance of journals and electronic journals for students. Item #9 dealing with book selection by faculty may have been misconstrued as classroom book selection, because other responses indicate that faculty believe library book selection should be done by library staff.
