Educational Objectives for Information Assurance and Forensics Program

The OSU Institute of Technology Information Technologies Division Information Assurance and Forensics Program will enable its graduates to:

  1. Develop and maintain technical, problem-solving and soft skills;
  2. Gain an applied foundation in the core information technologies;
  3. Explain the relevance of past and present social, ethical and cultural movements in their field;
  4. Develop and deploy technical solutions.

Student Outcomes for Information Assurance and Forensics Program

The OSU Institute of Technology Information Assurance and Forensics Program will enable its students to

  1. Effectively communicate electronically, verbally and in writing.
  2. Demonstrate logical, systematic problem-solving techniques.
  3. Develop and display a sense of personal, social and professional work ethics.
  4. Explain the cultural heritage and primary elements of history and government of the U.S. and its people, especially as it impacts one’s industry or field of study.
  5. Access and use technology appropriate to one’s industry or field of study.
  6. An ability to design, implement, evaluate and support secure information systems and technologies.
  7. The specific educational objective(s) will be reflective of the concentration(s) completed by graduates of OSU Institute of Technology’s Associates in Applied Science in Information Technologies degree.
    • Software/Web Development Concentration - An ability to design, develop, test, implement and maintain computer, database and web applications.
    • Information Security Concentration - An ability to analyze, evaluate and implement security strategies and technologies.
    • Network Infrastructure Concentration - An ability to analyze, evaluate, implement and support network infrastructure systems and technologies.
  8. An ability to apply and facilitate technical and non-technical skills and knowledge to develop and implement IT security-related solutions.
