Information Technologies - Frequently Asked Questions
Will Associate in Science (A.S.), Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees articulate into the Bachelor of Technology in Information Assurance and Forensics?

Yes. Individuals holding associate degrees will be able to apply all relevant coursework to the bachelor's in Information Assurance and Forensics.

Can students attend the program on a part-time basis and work while pursuing the degree?

Yes. Some individuals choose to complete their degrees as part-time students.

Can I receive college credit for previous experience and/or certifications?

Yes. Anyone may obtain college credit for previous experience and/or certifications through demonstration of competence or proof of certification.

What if I've taken a lower-division course which is similar to a course OSU Institute of Technology offers at an upper-division level?

A lower-division course which maps to an upper-division course at an 85% level will be accepted as satisfying the content of the required, upper-division course. However, students will still be required to meet the upper-division, credit-hour requirements of the Bachelor of Technology and Information Assurance and Forensics degree.

May high school students concurrently enroll?

High school juniors or seniors may undertake OSU Institute of Technology coursework provided they meet Concurrent Enrollment Admission requirements. Is there a waiting list for the Bachelor's in Information Assurance and Forensics degree?

Qualified applicants are admitted to the Information Assurance and Forensics program on a first come basis.

Are there any student organizations I can participate in while at OSU Institute of Technology?

Yes. The institution has 30 active student organizations, including two specific to IT: a student chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), and NETGAME.exe, a computer network gaming club.
