Program Supplies

In addition to textbooks and other miscellaneous supplies required in individual courses, students undertaking an Information Technologies plan of study will also need the following.

Storage Media

All Information Technologies students should have a USB-enabled external hard drive with at least 100GB of free storage space, and all must provide their own removable media (e.g., CD-Rs, DVD-Rs and/or USB drives).

PCs or Laptops

Courses offered by the Information Technologies Division do not require students to own their own computers. All Information Technologies students may use the unit's Open Lab during hours posted. Nevertheless, many students find owning a personal or laptop computer to be advantageous from the standpoints of time management and convenience.

Students interested in taking advantage of OSU Institute of Technology's Dell Education Purchase Program or the OSU Apple Store should visit the Computer & Information Services' Computer Recommendations page.

Software

Students in the Information Technologies Division utilize a variety of software packages throughout their coursework, and have access to several through OSU's Microsoft Campus Agreement and the Information Technologies Division's Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance agreement.
