Accessing your online courses

Once you have successfully enrolled in online classes there are a few steps you will need to complete to get access to the actual online content.

Step One: Activate your Okey Account

As a student you will have access to several different systems including: Email, Free Microsoft Software, the Online Classroom, and more. To access these systems you will need a username and password. This is what your Okey account is. Your Okey Account is now ready to be set up until the day AFTER you complete your enrollment through the Admissions office. To setup your account, you will need to visit the Okey account services page and click on the Okey Account Activation button. Once you have completed setting up your Okey account it takes a few hours to a day for your new account to take effect on all our systems.

Step Two: Login to your email

Once your Okey account has been setup you will have access to the OSU email systems. All class correspondence will be sent to your OSU Email address which ends in "@okstate.edu". If during Okey account setup you designated your email to forward to another address such as Hotmail or Yahoo, you will not be able to login to the OSU email system as your mail will be forwarded to the address you provided. If your forwarding address needs to be changed you can login to Okey account services and make corrections. To access your email you can log in at http://mail.okstate.edu. (NOTE: Most instructors will require you to use your OSU provided email address rather than a Hotmail or Yahoo account).

Step Three: Access your student information

Your permanent information including final grades, billing, class schedules, and financial information can be accessed by visiting our Student Information site. Information for the current and all past semesters is located here.

Step Four: Access your class

All Online courses are instructed through the Online Classroom. Your account will be created one business day after you have activated your Okey account. In most case you will gain access to the course materials one week before the start of the semester. Some online classes will have a one-time in-class orientation, typically announced via email. If you are unable to meet for this orientation you will need to contact your instructor.

Step Five: Download Software

Most classes will distribute content that was created in the Microsoft Office application. If you do not have Microsoft Office you can download the software for free or have it mailed on CD to you for a small fee. This student benefit is part of OSU's Microsoft Campus Agreement. You can access this software and many other applications and operating systems by logging into the MCA site. You can find more student computer support benefits by accessing the Computer & Information Services site.
