Student Privacy Rights

As required by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology advises students of their privacy rights. OSU Institute of Technology may disclose information to parents of students in two ways:

  1. by obtaining the student’s written consent, if the student is independent.
  2. by having the parents sign an affidavit establishing the student’s dependency as defined by Internal Revenue Code of 1954. This form is available in the Registrar’s Office upon request.
