Campus Safety

It is the mission of the OSU Institute of Technology Okmulgee Police Department to ensure that students enjoy their educational experience by providing a safe environment in which students, employees and visitors can pursue their daily personal, professional and education goals, relatively free of fear of harm to themselves or their property, by education when possible and enforcement when necessary.

The University Police Department consists of a Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police and six duly commissioned and Oklahoma CLEET certified police officers. The department also consists of four part time duly commissioned and Oklahoma CLEET certified police officers to supplement the force as needed.

Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology understands students have the right to a safe campus community. The Crisis Management Team coordinates the university’s response to critical incidents involving students while paying special attention to the safety and security needs of all members of the campus community and coordinates counseling, guidance, and appropriate support measures to members of the campus community in response to critical incidents so we may enhance the quality of life for all members of the campus community.
