Setting upMySite

Note: This will not work if you use Cox Cable as your internet provider, or if your internet provider blocks both port 139 and 445.

1.) Navigate to http://mysite.okstate.edu/mysite. The following window will appear, asking for your Okey email address and password. Should this screen ever appear during this process, enter the same information.

MySite

2.) You should then be directed to a site similar to this:

3.) In the top right corner of the page, click on 'Modify My Page'.

4.) Navigate to 'Add Web Parts' and then 'Search' as shown below on the left. When your new side bar appears, search for 'page viewer' and click 'Go' as shown below on the right.

5.) After the search is completed you should see a section titled 'Search Results' listed in the sidebar, with the result 'Page Viewer Web Part' . Left click on this and hold the mouse button down. Drag the web part to one of the 4 zones shown on the left. For this example I will drag it to zone 4, the bottom zone. Release the mouse button.

6.) If performed correctly, the zone you dragged it to should change. Inside the zone, there should be a message stating "To link to content, open the tool pane and then type a URL in the Link text box.". Click on the blue words: "open the tool pane". A new sidebar should appear. Select the "Folder" radio button, and enter the path to your home drive in the "Link" text box. Log in to O-Key and get the path to your home drive. Click on "(Test Link)" just above the text box. A window displaying your home drive contents should appear. If it works, a new window will appear. Close this window. If you get an error message check your path for typos and try again. Otherwise, click the "OK" button at the bottom of the sidebar.

7.) Your site should now look similar to the picture shown below. If it doesn' t, go back a few steps and try again. If you want to change the appearance of your site, click the down arrow in the upper right hand corner of your page viewer and select 'Modify my Web Part' , and then click 'Appearance' on the sidebar that appears. If you have a class drive, continue to the next step. Otherwise, you are finished.

8.) To connect your class drive, begin again at step 3. When you get to step 6, use '\\stwfile02.ad.okstate.edu\classes\classes' as your path.
