OSU Institute of Technology/MAIP is committed to providing high level training programs to local employers that meet specific needs. The center can customize training programs in a variety of areas including supervision, teambuilding, quality, computer applications and more. The center has many resources available to allow the creation of these customized these programs.

In response to local request the center has created a program specifically for managers and front line supervisors. The Management Course is deigned to teach the critical skills required of individuals who hold the positions.

The Management Course is an intensive, four-month program specially designed to rapidly advance the skills of entry- to mid-level managers.

This comprehensive program teaches proven methods for change management, problem solving, team building, decision making, written and verbal communications and improving work relationships. These are the very skills possessed by leaders around the world, and they?ll have a dramatic, lasting effect on you and your organization.

Unit 1: Introduction to Management - this unit enables you to examine your role as a manager and to study best practice strategies to further both your organization?s goals and your own. In this session you will study the following concepts.

• Management Roles and Responsibilities
• Human Resource Policy & Procedure
• Basic Business Finance & Budgeting
• Meetings; Conducting and Participating

Unit 2: Leadership - This unit will teach the basic fundamentals of leadership specifically as it relates to human relations. In this session you will learn common leadership strategies and techniques in the following areas.

• Written and verbal communications
• Coaching and Motivating
• Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution
• Giving and Receiving Feedback
